Reenactors: Heian Japan
This site is dedicated to those who have a passion for Japanese History. Reenactors: Heian Japan is set up especially for those who reenact the Heian Period (794-1185). This site will hopefull be a guide for those who have a passion for the Heian Period, or even just a passing interest in the culture.
For those who are also reenactors, let this be a resource for your work. If there is information on this site that you do not believe is accurate, please feel free to contact me. I am very interested in what you have to say. Also, if you have pictures of your reenactment, I would absolutely love to see them! If you are interested, e-mail them to me and I will post them on this site.
I will also include a couple of 'fun' pages, like why a Japanese Persona is a good idea in the SCA and tips and tricks used by reinactors to make their personae come to life.
Reenactors: Heian Japan is set up as a guide for those who are interested in the costume, culture, literature, history, polotics, warcraft, religion and everyday life of historical Japan. Please note that this site is a work in progress, and contributions are welcome, but please back up your information with sources. If you are able and willing to contribute, I want to thank you beforehand, and please include the pen name you wish to contribute under so I can attribute the information to you.
About me:
My name is Lady Kita no Musume. I have been a member of the SCA for 7 years, and only about 3 years ago did I discover my passion for the elegance of the Heian period. My sister, Lady Fujiwara no Murasaki, is also a reenactor who has been eternally supportive and a wealth of knowledge in my journey to understand more. This site is intended to unify my studies with the research of others and be a resource for those who also have a budding interest in Japanese culture and history.
